Chinese New Year Parade 2010 in Butte MT

Chinese New Year Parade 2010 in Butte, MT. The annual Chinese New Year Parade in Butte is hosted by the Mai Wah Society. In 2009, Reader's Digest named the Butte Mai Wah Chinese New Year Parade one of the 6 most interesting processions in America. The Dragon is 60 feet long and came to the town of Butte from Taiwan. Between 1850-1900, a quarter of a million Chinese immigrants lived in Montana, working the railroads and mines. Despite extensive discrimination, efforts to evict them, and even violence, Butte was home to Montana's largest Chinese community and a thriving Chinatown with hundreds of residents. The music is from two Garageband clips called "Lotus" and "Shogun". Feel free to school me in the comments as to better musical choices for this video.
